Hannah -

We made pages for you to complete on our website. Try to keep the same font and format as the pages that we have finished. The font is size 16 and the pictures are centered at the bottom. Be sure to have your name on every page that you do and create a new lesson plan, video, podcast, or something and include it on your pages.

Exam is at 6pm on Monday in our regular lab classroom.

Thanks!!

Also, we need to think of what the next step is so that we can be getting stuff done. I am not sure as to what we should do next if someone has an idea please post.

Thanks!!!

Have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving Break! :]

Hey girls,
Sorry I've been a horrible blogger! My taskstream expired so I am renewing that today!
We decided to use a group e-mail and we are using mine. The e-mail is hodgson.helen1@gmail.com We are emailing you the password! Hope you feel better Meredith!

Hannah

Oh NO

Hey Meredith,

I hope you feel better soon!! I will post whatever stuff we do in class and fill you in. I take it you are not going to ASL today. I have $5 for you whenever I see you next.

**Each group member has to create at least two pages (not including the main page), each group member has to create a new

**Each group member needs to create one original item -- such as a lesson plan, a podcast, an instructional PowerPoint, etc. (Word searches and crossword puzzles do NOT count!). Each original item needs a short description of what it is.

FEEL BETTER!

Times for Final Presentation

We signed up for 3 time slots during exam week to do our final presentation. They are:

Monday @ 6pm
Monday @ 7pm
Wednesday @ 6pm

It only takes 1/2 hour for the presentation. Hannah, if none of these times work or conflict with your other exams, just let us know and we can talk about another time we are all free.

I'm soooo SORRY

Hey Girls,
I might not make it to class this morning. I locked my keys in my car and am now sitting and waiting for a tow truck to rescue me. I am going to try my best to make it to class. If I do not make it is there some time this week we can get together to work on the podcast? Also, could someone fill me in on what I missed today. Hopefully, I will make it. Worst case I won't.

I'm so sorry!!

Lesson Plan 2

So I messed up my first lesson plan : [ thankfully I get a second chance to do it. I just redid it and resubmitted it, hopefully I did it right.

For the second lesson plan I am thinking about doing a "What do you have at your home?" excel project. I am thinking to make a list of different planting items and survey how many homes have those items. Do you think that meets the requirements of LP2????

Let me know ASAP! Thanks! :]

Lesson Plan #2

I talked to our teacher about an idea of Lesson Plan #2 with the Excel spreadsheet. I decided to to do my lesson on how to use Microsoft Excel and whether or not our class wants to do a Flower Garden or a Vegetable Garden for our final project. The spreadsheat will be used as a voting tool and I have to include how to use Excel in my lesson plan because this will probably be one of the first units to do. My lesson will be completed in just one day, which she said was okay.

If you have any questions just let me know! Thanks!

Once again I am stumped at how we are supposed to submit our digital stories. If someone could tell me I'd appreciate that! I already uploaded it to youtube but I don't know what to do after that.

Do we have anything else due tomorrow besides the digital story and the quiz???

MovieMaker Topic

I am going to stick with my lesson plan theme of "What Living Things Need to Survive/Life Cycle of Plants" to do my movie as well. I think I will use the life cycle of a sunflower and talk about all of the different stages. If you have any questions or suggestions, just let me know :) thanks!

Grace - for the lesson plan, when you are finished there is a button at the bottom that says "Request Feedback". When you press that it will bring up a page and you just have to check the box next to our teachers name and press submit. Hope that helps :) I've been working on my Power Point presentation..hope everyones is going well!

I just did my lesson plan

How do I send my lesson plan to the teacher again?? I have it done but don't know how to send it. Also, I did mine lesson plan on doing research in the library and writing a story incorporating gardening facts into it. Do you think that is too broad? I wanted to leave it open for the students to go wherever they wanted with the gardening because I want it to be the first of many lessons. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks!

My first lesson plan

Hello Ladies,

I am going to incorporate Language Arts into my first lesson plan. I am thinking something along the lines of having the students research plants. After they research they will have to choose facts about plants and write a short story about using the facts they learned. The "big bang" is going to be a story from each student that has facts about plants.

As of right now this what I am thinking. I will post if I decide to change anything.

My lesson plan topic

My lesson plan will be about incorporating math into gardening.

Look at the websites I posted, some of them are pretty cool, especially about how to care for the garden.

I will incorporate how to find a good spot for a garden, like it needs sunshine, water is easily available...etc.

Final part will be a garden with measurements, maybe measurements with water and how much to use.

If you have any ideas let me know

additional notes

My final project would be to present in groups about life cycle of plant.

Lesson Plan Topic

I will use Science as my topic and will cover areas such as the life cycle of a plant and what living things need to grow and thrive.

My websites

1.) http://www.alfy.com/teachers/teach/thematic_units/Plants/Plant_1.asp
2.)http://urbanext.illinois.edu/firstgarden/
3.)http://www.copper-tree.ca/garden/index.html
4.)http://www.kidsgardening.org/
5.)http://www.mnh.si.edu/archives/garden/

There's a few extra but they were all pretty cool

Joined the group

Alright, I'm in the group. Those are great ideas. I was wondering if we could even do some sort of game involving plants that could incorporate geography, I did something like that in high school and it was really fun.

Friday, September 25, 2009

Wow, totally weird.

So for some reason I kept getting a message that said the blog had be disabled...weird. Thank Goodness it didn't, I was kind of getting worried. I have no idea what was going on. Anyway, I got a couple of ideas from lecture...

1) Incorporate English through books about plants
2)Incorporate Math through the plant growth
3)Incorporate Geography with where certain plants grow
4)Incorporate Science with photosynthesis and what not

Those are just a few ideas. Have a GREAT weekend!
